Typos on PointsPlus Printed Material

It was brought to my attention by a very sweet reader (Hi Mo!) there are some print mistakes on the new Weight Watchers Points Plus Dining Out Guide, Complete Food Companion and Pocket Guide. If you have these books, you may want to check this out. Click on the links to see the updates.

It is what it is said...

Yes, this is totally and completely unacceptable for such a large, international company.

So...they are definitely NOT perfect. WW has editors who are supposed to catch these things and they did not do the job. They have printed corrections and emailed everyone with eTools last week. The new printing of the books (those to be sold in January) will have all the corrections. I have read over the "official" version from them and it is not major errors.

Well, they should give us the new books when they come out. A whole bunch of us from Weight Watchers at work, bought the whole binder w/ the books.

so, the 2nd set of WW materials that I JUST bought is inaccurate (the 1st being the set I bought when I joined a year ago)? I agree that with switching plans they should GIVE all of the new materials to members, instead of making them buy them. And, as an 3-tools user, I did not get an e-mail update with the corrections in it.

Free corrected books should be sent to all who bought the erroneous ones, frankly. I paid a lot for the books, so if they're faulty, they should issue me corrected copies.

I didn't get any emails from WW! This is annoying!

Just shows you.....we're ALL human. We ALL make mistakes. That's why God gave man the knowledge to create erasers.
If WW sends new books out to everyone who purchased one with a typo in it, the price of everything would end up being increased.
Thinking it's just easier to write in the correcton.......

I'm on a fixed income & thanks to their not giving us any free way to calculate our points+, they've lost me as a customer.

Yes, man makes mistakes, but a multimillion dollar company shouldn't take it out on the poor because they didn't want to spend a few bucks to hire some proof readers.

Shame on you Weight Watchers!!!

So, my "real" job, yes I have a day job, is in the printing and design industry. I'm sure these new books were a huge job to write, calculate, proof read, etc and mistakes happen. I just wanted to make you aware if you purchased these books. You should probably go on the official site to see if there are any more corrections.

I thank you for all you do here, Gina. This is certainly not an attack at you.

I'm just so hurt that I can't afford WW anymore. SIGH.

Marilyn, you could always continue with the old plan if it was working for you. And there is always counting calories, completely FREE!

If they are not going to "exchange" the incorrectly printed materials - then I hope that they at least extend the sale prices until Feb or so - to allow members enough time to purchase. But knowing WW - they won't. So disappointing to pay high fees to belong - and then the info is wrong!!

A few mistakes here or there would not be a major deal. However, when you're looking at 8 pages of errata for a single book, it is pretty significant. Counting the rows on the corrections tables is an inaccurate count of the errors because some items have multiple corrections lumped into one.

I'm sure it takes a huge amount of work to research and produce the lists. However, it is going to take hours to correct my manuals since I won't buy a corrected set and I don't believe we'll be given replacements. Unfortunately, the hours spent won't even get me Activity Points for the effort.
