Will you adapt your recipes when Weight Watchers switches over to Pro Points?

Q - Next week WW will be debuting a new program. My question is...Will you adapt your recipes to go with the new program?

A - All my recipes already have the nutritional information listed, so it should be pretty simple to figure out the new points based on the new system. But yes, with time, I do plan on eventually updating all my older recipes as well as listing both moving forward.

Thanks so much! As a great fan of your website, I appreciate you making the effort to convert to the new plan! Thanks for helping me lose 12 lbs in 3 months! I'm within 10lbs of my goal weight! :)

Wow, that's great Gwyn!! Yes, I will convert them all eventually, it will just take some time.

Of course! And those of us following the new plan will have all the nutritional info to calculate it on our own anyway. :)

Absolutely!! I work for Weight Watchers and have been on the new program for almost 2 months and it is WONDERFUL!! As I am cooking a meal, if the nutritional info is available, I'll change it, if it isn't, I figure it out. After all, I (and you too!!) are worth the extra few minutes it takes to figure it out!!

Thank you so much for all that you have done for us. I follow WW, but never did get much out of the meetings, since I followed the SFT plan and meetings were all about counting points.

I am just curious to know what my new daily points target would be for a 60 year old female - moderately active 5'6" weighing 173 lbs. and wanting to lose weight rather than maintain.

I'm a big fan of your site. I've done WW off and on for years and usually I end up going off of it because I get bored cooking the same old basic stuff. Your site and recipes have made this soooo much easier this time. My husband and I have made a choice to view our weight loss this time as not a diet but a lifestyle way of eating. We're on our way to losing the weight and keeping it off for good. It would definately not be possible without your amazing, yummy recipes. They are all fabulous.

Many many thanks for the recipes...my cholesterol really improved, woo hoo! Along with overall health from eating better.

A few recipes I have had to modify a bit or not use, since I am a kidney failure patient. However, *every* recipe used 'as is" has been tested and approved by my family :)

When I realized the WW plan was changing my VERY FIRST thought was "oh no!! I wont know how to incorperate Gina's recipes into my diet!" I immediately looked up your website and breathed a sigh of relief when I found out you would be sticking by our sides and making it easy for us! Your recipes are absolutely amazing (we actually just had an entire "skinny taste" Thanksgiving!) I have literally cooked something from your website almost every night and thanks to you and weight watchers I have lost 14lbs in 6 weeks!! Thank you again Gina... u da bomb!!

That's great Gwen!

Rachel and Krazy Katy - Without all of you faithfully visiting me and encouraging me, this wouldn't all be possible, so thank you all!! Each and every one of you, I'm thankful for all the kind comments and support.

Gina~ YOU*ARE*An*Absolute*Doll! Thank you, thank you for putting in the time to convert your fabulous recipes to the new point system! When I heard of the new plan, my first thoughts (like some of your other readers) was how I could still use your recipes and count accurate points. I should have known you would have our backs on this detail too like you always do!! Thanks for all the support by way of your FANTASTIC photography skills, nutrition savy and yummy recipes you give to many!
Consider yourself well hugged,
Julie

Thank you for the promise of updating the points. I've been using your site exclusively since I found it about a month ago and *everything* I've made has been awesome! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Gina - You are AWESOME! Thank you so much for posting your delicious and most importantly, healthy recipes, for all to see! I make a "Gina" meal just about every night of the week and my hubby can't believe that it fits under the WW plan. I've also discovered my love for cooking - brought your pumpkin dip to Thanksgiving dinner- It was a huge hit!

Gina, You are so awesome! I love your website! Thank you so much for providing this information and switching recipes to the PointsPlus. I must say I was a little sad that all the recipes I have printed off must now be converted, any extra assistance is greatly appreciated!! I plugged in the Skinny Red Velvet Cupcakes as I have never made red velvet but have thought red velvet cake would be great. This recipe converted came out to Points+ = 3 pts! Have a great day!

Just a thought, as a fellow fan that has become reliant on Gina's site....if we all took ten of her recipes and did the calculations on our eTools, we could really make this an easy project. It could be our way of giving back to Gina who has given so much to us with her time, effort, energy and creativity. After all, she, like all of us, is even busier with the holidays looming. Any takers? We could comment back to this post with the results. I will wait for some feedback and if there is interest we can start to divy up the recipes. Thanks all! ~Sarah K.

Sarah, Can I hug you? Any help would be greatly appreciated! You can leave a comment under the recipe with the new point value. It's easier for me to update that way.

Anonymous said...

Haha, yes, I feel the hug ;-) I will have some time in the next few days to start calculating. I love the idea of commenting under the recipe...I knew my logistical details were a little off, but now we can all see which recipes are done and which aren't. Happy calculating everyone! ~Sarah K.

I was wondering if you ever thought of changing the structure of your site?
Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.

But maybe you could a little more in the way of content
so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of
text for only having one or 2 pictures. Maybe you could space
it out better?
